Are you LGBTQ-affirming?
Yes. I work affirmatively with LGBTQ+ clients and understand gender and sexuality as natural, diverse aspects of human experience.
What does it mean that you use Marxist therapeutic theory and a decolonial lens?
It means I recognize how systems like capitalism and colonialism shape mental health, access to resources, and lived stress. I won’t treat your struggles as purely individual problems divorced from the world you live in.
Do I need to share these political views to work with you?
No. You don’t need to use specific language or hold particular beliefs. What matters is that you want work that respects context, power, and your lived reality.
Do I need a diagnosis to start therapy?
No. Many clients come in seeking understanding, support, or growth rather than a diagnosis.
What if I’ve had a bad therapy experience before?
That matters. We’ll move at your pace and talk openly about what has and hasn’t worked for you.
How long does therapy or coaching last?
That depends on your goals. Some people work short-term, others longer-term. We revisit this together.
Where do sessions take place?
I am currently only offering virtual sessions for my clients.
What should I expect in the early stages of therapy?
Early therapy is about building safety, understanding what brings you in, and getting a sense of how we’ll work together. You don’t need to have everything figured out—part of the process is discovering your goals as we go.
The first few sessions may involve exploring current stressors, patterns, or experiences that feel important. It’s normal for therapy to feel unfamiliar at first, and reactions can vary from relief to feeling more emotionally aware or tired.
Progress isn’t linear, and we’ll check in regularly about what’s helpful and what might need adjusting. Therapy is a collaborative process, and your feedback is always welcome.
